San Francisco is a small, walkable city, but when you need a lift here are a few options:

MUNI

Natives have a love/hate (ok, mostly hate) relationship with our public transportation system. But it's relatively efficient, covers almost every corner of the city, and nothing else will fully immerse you in San Francisco life like a ride on MUNI.

A re-loadable Clipper transit card lets you ride BART, the Golden Gate Ferry system, and MUNI, including Cable Cars.

BART

BART is a faster, longer-distance system (that also runs a single line through the center of SF) and connects SF to the rest of the Bay Area including Oakland and SF airports. In SF, BART and the MUNI metro rail system share stations, but you have to switch between them.

BART

Taxi

As an alternative to ridesharing services like Uber and Lyft, SF's taxi system has a mobile app that allows you to hail a cab as well. We use it all the time and it's great.

Flywheel

Driving/Parking

Hopefully you can avoid any parking ticket (or god forbid towing) incidents while in town, as long as you're armed with the right info to battle the DPT:
